GLink™ GUC chip leverages proteanTecs die-to-die interconnect monitoring

Results Show How In-Depth Data Performance and Reliability Monitoring Provides Full Visibility into High-Bandwidth Interfaces

HAIFA, Israel, October 26, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — proteanTecs, a global leader in deep data analytics for advanced electronics, announced that the results of its collaboration with advanced ASIC vendor, Global Unichip Corporation (GUC), are being shared in a new white paper.

The collaboration between GUC and proteanTecs began with monitoring the reliability of High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) interfaces and continued with GUC’s second generation of its GLink™ interface, known as GLink 2.0. GLink is a high-bandwidth die-to-die (D2D) parallel interface that delivers industry-leading performance, including low latency and power efficiency. proteanTecs interconnect monitoring solution has been integrated into the GLink test chip to provide better GUC visibility during PHY testing and characterization and to improve the end product with performance and reliability monitoring on the ground.

“ProteanTecs is the only company today that offers complete visibility into high-bandwidth D2D interfaces,” said Igor Elkanovich, CTO at GUC. “Their high-resolution interconnect monitoring solutions provide parametric lane classification with 100% lane and pin coverage, giving us critical information that both speeds and improves our device testing and characterizations, and provides our customers mission life monitoring.”

“GUC’s advanced 2.5D/3D packaging technologies are playing an important role in responding to the semiconductor industry’s ‘more than Moore’ shift towards chips and heterogeneous integration,” said Evelyne Landman, co-founder and CTO at proteanTecs. “We look forward to our continued collaboration on GUC’s family of D2D interface solutions as we support the growing advanced packaging ecosystem.”

The results and key findings on silicon are now available in a new white paper and will be shared in technical presentations and a webinar.

  • The white paper,GUC GLink test chip uses built-in monitoring and in-depth data analysis for high-bandwidth die-to-die characterization,” is available here.
  • The presentation entitled “GUC GLink case study: Performance and Reliability Monitoring for Heterogeneous Packages, Combining Deep Data with Machine Learning Algorithms“, will be delivered to many industry eventsincluding in North America on October 26, Europe on November 8and China on December 6.
  • proteanTecs will host a webinar on “The Age of Chiplets and Heterogeneous Integration: Challenges and Emerging Solutions to Support Advanced 2.5D and 3D Packagingwith speakers from GUC and Yole Développement. To attend this November 16 webinar, register here.

proteanTecs and GUC are contributing members of the UCIe™ (Universal Chiplet Interconnect Express) consortiumwhich brings together industry leaders to create an interoperable multi-vendor ecosystem and standardize future generations of D2D interconnects and protocol connections.
