LAREDO, TX. (KGNS) –
Laredo ISD has implemented its next dress code for students in their upcoming year.
The district held a board meeting to discuss its standardized dress code for students, as the change was made after two years of uncertainty.
Israel Castilla, director of accountability and compliance for the district, said women and men will wear their shirts according to their district’s high school colors, namely red, white, green, yellow, blue and brown.
For student pants, the approved colors are black, gray, khaki, beige, and brown.
“One of the big things we’re looking to incorporate is that elementary, middle and high school students can wear jeans over the coming year Monday through Friday,” Castilla adds.
Castilla says this new dress code was to ensure that the student in the district feels safe and comfortable while attending school, as it will also help the district identify students inside their campuses.
LISD will begin sending parents their new dress code.
