Ramara partners with HONK for paid parking pilot project

The Township of Ramara has partnered with HONK, North America’s leading provider of contactless payments for parking, to implement a pilot pay parking program in Ramara.

Effective immediately, residents and visitors who park at Bluebird Park, Lagoon City Beach and Park, and Lovely Day Park will have access to five paid parking spaces and the safest and most secure contactless parking experience. fast in Canada. Drivers have two ways to pay contactless with HONK: (1) scan their phone for a QR code located onsite for a quick guest checkout experience, or (2) download the free HonkAPP app from the App Store or Google Play

At each municipal parking space, there will be five (5) parking spaces available for paid parking. Parking will cost $ 5 per hour and is available between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. There will be no overnight parking, commercial vehicle parking or unattached trailer parking at each of these municipal parking lots. Residents are encouraged to register to get their TWO FREE parking permits which they can use in these municipal parking lots or in on-street parking lots. Residents and visitors can learn more at ramara.ca/parking.

Ramara Township is delighted to partner with HONK to provide secure, contactless paid parking, Ramara Mayor Basil Clarke said. As the province of Ontario continues to open up, it’s important to offer visitors a safe, contactless way to park. The deployment of HONK’s contactless parking solution allowed us to quickly pivot our parking operations to allow non-residents and unlicensed residents to park in our popular waterfront locations.

Located in each municipal car park, the HonkTAP payment option allows drivers to pay for their parking in complete safety by scanning their phone. With no apps to download and no payment kiosks to touch, paying for parking is easier and safer than ever. After scanning the QR code, drivers press a pop-up notification to open a pre-loaded payment screen with rate options. Drivers simply type in their license plate and choose how long they want to park. The HONK payment system integrates directly with Ramara’s parking control services by switching paid parking sessions to real-time control officers.

For app enthusiasts, the Honk APP is another contactless payment option for drivers who want to pay for parking and manage a session directly from their phone. As with the HonkTAP option, drivers can pay using Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, and all major credit cards. Drivers can also choose to receive SMS reminders when their parking lot expires and can add more time to their parking session right from their phone – no need to rush to power the meter!

Drivers everywhere are now looking for safe and easy ways to pay for parking, ”said Michael Back, Founder and CEO of HONK. ? HONK is delighted to expand its presence in regions of Ontario and give drivers access to the best parking experience in Canada
