MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) today announced that the Village of Arena is an applicant for funding under the Drinking Water Loan Program (SDWLP) to address deficiencies in its public water system. ‘potable water. The project includes the construction of a new well and a well in the village of Arena.
Activities related to this project are minor actions under Chapter NR 150, Wis. Admin. Code, for which no environmental analysis is required; however, per Federal SDWLP requirement 40 CFR §35.3580, an environmental review must be completed before funding this project.
The SDWLP has determined that the project will not cause significant adverse environmental effects and that no further environmental review or analysis is required before proceeding with project funding.
The public is encouraged to submit comments regarding this decision and the potential environmental impacts of this project. Send your comments by July 11, 2022 to:

Based on the feedback received, the SDWLP may prepare an environmental scan before proceeding with the funding process. The analysis would summarize MNR’s consideration of project impacts and reasonable alternatives.
